Neighborhood Guide
MiMo District
The MiMo District, short for “Miami Modern,” grew along Biscayne Boulevard during Miami’s postwar boom, when bold architecture, neon accents, and stylish roadside motels helped define a new era of travel and design. Distinct from the city’s earlier Art Deco look, MiMo brought a playful, futuristic energy to the neighborhood that still gives it so much character today. Now, MiMo is known for its retro charm, standout dining, independent shops, and laid-back local vibe—making it one of Miami’s most exciting neighborhoods to stay, stroll, and explore.
